Turkey, sage, cranberry sauce, goat cheese, bacon and Muenster pressed between buttered bread until golden and melted.
You need
- 2 slices thick, sturdy white or wheat bread
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- A few slices leftover turkey
- A few fresh sage leaves
- A few spoonfuls cranberry sauce (or raspberry jam)
- 1 oz goat cheese
- 2 slices cooked bacon
- 1 slice Muenster cheese
How to make it
- Heat a skillet or panini press to medium-high.
- On one slice of bread layer the turkey, sage, cranberry sauce, crumbled goat cheese, bacon and Muenster. Top with the second slice.
- Butter the outsides of both slices.
- Cook in the press, or in the skillet with a heavy pan pressed on top, until the outside is deep golden and the cheese has melted, 3 to 4 minutes a side in a skillet.
- Slice in half and eat hot.
Chef's notes- Low and slow beats high and fast: if the bread browns before the cheese melts, turn the heat down a notch.
