The Chef Amazing Food Corporation · Last updated 9 October 2026
The short version. He keeps what he needs to cook for your table and nothing else. He does not sell it, he does not share it outside your household, and he will not hand it to a grocer or a brand unless you ask him to. You can change or delete any of it, any time.
Chef Amazing is operated by The Chef Amazing Food Corporation (“we”, “us”). This page explains what we collect when you use chefamazing.com, why, and who else touches it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
Your email address, the name you give us, and a password. We never see or store your password ourselves — it is handled by our authentication provider and stored only as a cryptographic hash. If you join the waiting list, we also keep your full name and postal code, so we can open one area at a time.
Who you cook for: first names, rough ages, how adventurous each person is, and any diets, allergies or foods somebody will not eat. You choose what to enter, and you can leave anyone out. This is the information that makes the rest of it work, and it is the information we guard most carefully.
Recipes he writes or you save, what you cooked and when, your ratings and notes, who at the table liked what, weeks you plan, shopping lists, and what you tell us is in your fridge and cupboard.
Pictures you take of your fridge, your cupboard, a dish you want to make, or a dinner you have finished. They are stored with your account so you can see them later.
Pictures of finished dishes and the recipes you save may be shown to other cooks inside Chef Amazing, or used in our own pages and promotion, under the licence in the Terms. We will either credit you or strip identifying details, whichever you ask for.
Pictures of the inside of your fridge and cupboard work the same way, and you can switch them off. They may be shown unless you say not to — and saying so takes one tap, in Your Taste, under What leaves your kitchen. Turn it off and yours are never shown to anybody, ever, and nothing about how he cooks for you changes. When we do show one, your name is not on it unless you asked for the credit.
Before you leave that switch alone, look at what is actually in the picture. A shelf can hold more than food — a prescription, a letter, a child's drawing, the corner of a room. Point the camera at the food, and turn the switch off if you would rather not think about it.
Only when you photograph a restaurant dish and ask him to work out where you are. Your device asks your permission first, the coordinates are used once to name the place, and we do not track your location at any other time.
Standard server logs and error reports, which include an IP address and browser type. We use them to keep the site working.
We do not use your information to build an advertising profile, and we do not run ads.
The Chef Amazing extension for Chrome finds the recipes among your bookmarks and sends them to your account. Here is exactly what it does with your information.
Once the links reach Chef Amazing, they are handled like anything else you save, as described above.
We use a small number of companies to run the service. They act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their part of it.
| WHO | WHAT THEY DO | WHAT THEY SEE |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage | Your account and everything saved to it |
| Vercel | Hosting the site | Requests and technical logs |
| Anthropic | The models that write recipes and read photographs | The request he sends on your behalf, including the relevant parts of your table and kitchen, and any photograph you take |
| Resend | Sending email | Your email address and the message |
| OpenStreetMap | Turning coordinates into a place name | One set of coordinates, only when you ask |
| YouTube | Videos, if you watch one | Only what a video player normally sees; we use the no-cookie player |
| Sign in with Google, if you choose it | Your name and email address |
We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect someone's safety. If the Corporation is ever sold, your information would move with it, and we would tell you first.
Shopping lists and cooking records are the most useful thing this service produces, and we are going to be plain about what we do with them rather than bury it.
We combine what people cook, buy and put on their lists into aggregated, de-identified information — counts and patterns across many households at once. Before anything is aggregated we strip your name, your email, the names and ages of the people you cook for, and anything else that points at you. What is left is a pattern, not a person: that gnocchi is bought with sage, that a particular vegetable disappears in September, that a region cooks more fish in Lent.
Inside the Corporation, we use that to make him better at his job — what to suggest, what is in season where you are, which combinations actually work. That is the whole of it today.
We do not share or sell your shopping and cooking information to anyone outside the Corporation — in any form, aggregated or not — unless you have said yes to something specific that says we will.
That is what an opt-in looks like here. One day you may be able to link a grocer and have your list priced, ordered or discounted; join a savings scheme; or take part in something a brand is running. Each of those will be a separate, plainly worded yes, and before you give it you will see exactly what would be shared, with whom, and what you get for it. You will be able to leave at any time, and leaving will not make Chef Amazing worse at cooking for you. Silence is a no. Not answering, or not noticing, is never treated as agreement.
If and when any of that exists, it will be a switch in Your Taste alongside the others, and it will be off until you turn it on.
The line, which we hold to whatever you opt in to:
If you would rather your household were not counted even inside the Corporation, write to us and we will take you out of it.
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. You may enter a child's first name and rough age because that is how he cooks for your family — that information is yours, entered by you, and you can remove it at any moment. We do not knowingly let children create accounts, and if we learn that one has, we will delete it.
For as long as your account is open, because a cookbook that forgets is not much of a cookbook. When you delete your account we remove your information from our live systems, and it falls out of encrypted backups within 30 days.
Everything travels encrypted. Your data is walled off at the database level so that one account cannot read another's. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
On servers in the United States. If you are using Chef Amazing from elsewhere, you are asking us to send it there.
Chef Amazing is in private beta and is changing weekly. When this page changes we will change the date at the top, and if the change matters we will tell you directly rather than quietly.
Write to hello@chefamazing.com. A person reads it.
Chef Amazing remembers every place you ate, keeps the lists friends send you, and helps you cook it at home.
