A Thanksgiving cheese board

Three cheeses, something sweet, something salty, good crackers. The perfect thing to hand a guest who asks what to bring.

When to make it

Buy it all Tuesday. Set it out an hour before guests come so the cheese is at room temperature.

Add it to your plan and Chef puts these on the right days, and fits it into your oven on Thursday.

For 10

  • 7 ozaged cheddar
  • 7 oza soft cheese such as Brie or Camembert
  • 5 oza blue cheese
  • 4 ozprosciutto or salami optional
  • 1½pears or apples sliced
  • ¾ cupgrapes
  • ½ cupmarcona almonds
  • ½ cupfig jam
  • 1½ boxescrackers

How to make it

  1. Arrange

Put the cheeses on the board first, spaced apart, each with its own knife. Fill the gaps with fruit, then meat, then nuts. Jam in a small bowl.

  2. Timing

Set it out an hour before guests arrive. Cold cheese has no taste.

Chef's notes

  • About 3 oz of cheese per person before a big dinner is plenty.
