Where to eat in Savannah

Savannah cooks from the Georgia coast: shrimp, oysters and crab, rice dishes and the Lowcountry boil, plus pralines from the candy shops along River Street. The old squares of the Historic District hold the classics, and the Starland district on Bull Street to the south is where most of the new kitchens open. Michelin's American South guide does not cover Savannah yet, so local critics and the James Beard lists are the guide.
