Kingham, the Cotswolds. Meat from the farm down the road and a fire going.
I went to The Wild Rabbit in 2019. I went back in 2023. I don't go back to many places, so that's the review.
It's a stone pub in Kingham, owned by the Bamford family, the people behind Daylesford Organic. The meat comes from their farm a few miles away. It was Michelin's Pub of the Year in 2015, and it still feels like a pub: low beams, a fire, people in muddy boots next to people who drove up from London.
Make a day of it. Walk a bit of the Cotswold countryside, stop at the Daylesford farm shop, and end up here for a long lunch.
There are rooms upstairs if lunch turns into dinner. Ask me how I know. Actually, don't.
Chef keeps it in your places with what to get, and puts a whole day in Cotswolds in your Trips, The Wild Rabbit at 1pm. Plus a real person's favorite place every morning. Free, no password.
