Studying abroad in Rome

Every meal here costs €10 or less.

About $12 US. Typical prices, checked November 2, 2026.

Rome eats cheaply on its feet: pizza by the slice, supplì and trapizzino at a counter, a maritozzo for breakfast. Sit down for a Roman pizza at night, and never eat near the Pantheon.

A day of eating for €25

  1. Breakfast, €5: Pasticceria Regoli, a maritozzo (cream-filled bun) and a cappuccino
  2. Lunch, €10: Pizzarium Bonci, three slices of pizza al taglio, by weight
  3. Dinner, €10: Da Remo, pizza margherita, thin and crackly, with a fried starter

Breakfast, lunch and dinner: €25, about $29.

How students save in Rome

  1. Fill your bottle at the nasoni, the free public drinking fountains all over Rome.
  2. Pizza al taglio is sold by weight. Say how much you want ('un po' così') and point.
  3. Avoid any restaurant with photos of food on the menu or a waiter outside asking you in.

Prices are typical, checked November 2, 2026, and move; places with branches all over (chains) are named so you can use any of them. "A photo like it" is the same kind of food, not from that place. Chef Amazing is not paid by any place on this page.
