The viral recipe test · every Friday

Does the viral recipe actually work?

Every week some recipe takes over my feed and I want to know: is it good, or just good on camera? So every Friday Chef takes the one everyone's making, credits the person who made it famous, tells you what goes wrong when people try it at home, and gives you the fixed version to save.

Works, and it's a great lunch. But day three is a soggy jar unless you change the order you build it.

How Chef tests: he reads the creator's recipe and video, the remakes and the comments from people who made it, and checks the ratios against classic versions of the dish. He hasn't stood at a stove for these, and doesn't say he has. Every photo is credited; "a photo like it" means it isn't the creator's own. Chef Amazing isn't paid by anyone named here.

Chef Amazing remembers every place you ate, keeps the lists friends send you, and helps you cook it at home.
