    Crab Rangoon

    Laoban

Crisp wonton, creamy crab filling, no deep fryer. The takeout version comes with a gloopy pink sauce; a quick sweet chili and lime dip is better.

Part of Laoban's "Crunchy Bites" line, made with Whole Foods and launched there in 2025. Air-fryer ready.

The box saysAir-fry from frozen at 375°F about 8 to 10 minutes.

    Make it taste homemade

Crab rangoon with a lime and sweet chili dip

Sweet chili sauce alone is too sweet. Lime juice, a little fish sauce and fresh herbs make a dip that cuts the richness of the cream cheese.

    You need

    • 1 bag Laoban Crab Rangoon
    • Cooking spray or 1 tsp neutral oil
    • 3 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce
    • 1 tbsp lime juice
    • 1/2 tsp fish sauce
    • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro or mint
    • 1 scallion, thinly sliced

    How to make it

    1. Heat the air fryer to 375°F. Spread the frozen rangoon in one layer with space between them and give them a light spray of oil.
    2. Air-fry 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until deep golden and crisp at the points.
    3. While they cook, stir the sweet chili sauce, lime juice and fish sauce in a small bowl, then stir in the cilantro.
    4. Let the rangoon rest 2 minutes: the filling is very hot.
    5. Pile them on a plate, scatter the scallion, and serve with the dip.

Chef's own upgrade, in our words. Save it and it opens in Chef Amazing with a timeline, the prep laid out and what you already have.
