    Meatballs & Sauce

    Rao's Made for Home

The meatballs are tender and the sauce is Rao's marinara. Spaghetti is the obvious move; a meatball parm hero is the better one.

Heat the meatballs, pile them into toasted rolls with provolone and parm, and run them under the broiler until the cheese bubbles and browns.

    You need

    • 1 box Rao's Made for Home Meatballs & Sauce
    • 2 Italian hero rolls or ciabatta rolls, split
    • 1 tbsp butter, softened, mixed with 1 small grated garlic clove
    • 4 slices provolone
    • 2 tbsp grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
    • 6 fresh basil leaves
    • Pinch of dried oregano and red pepper flakes

    How to make it

    1. Heat the meatballs and sauce as the box says until hot through. Halve the meatballs so the sandwich sits flat.
    2. Heat the broiler with a rack 6 inches from the top. Spread the garlic butter on the cut sides of the rolls and broil 1 to 2 minutes, until golden. Watch them: broilers burn fast.
    3. Lay the provolone on the bottom halves, spoon on the meatballs and a little sauce, then sprinkle with the Parmigiano and oregano.
    4. Broil 1 to 2 minutes more, until the cheese melts and browns in spots.
    5. Add the basil and pepper flakes, close the rolls, and press gently. Serve with the extra sauce for dipping.
