Gluten-free Berlin

Eating gluten free here: Easy

Berlin is easy for coeliacs: a fully gluten-free trattoria, Greek, Brazilian and taco places with no gluten in the kitchen, and more dedicated bakeries than you can get through in a weekend.

What to ask
Ich habe Zöliakie. Ich darf überhaupt kein Gluten essen, auch keine Spuren. Wird dieses Gericht ohne Kreuzkontamination zubereitet?

I have coeliac disease. I can't eat any gluten, not even traces. Is this dish made with no cross-contamination?

Where to eat

100% gluten free

The whole kitchen is gluten free. Order anything.

Good gluten-free options

Plenty you can eat and staff who get it, in a kitchen that also uses flour. Say it's coeliac, not a preference.

Before you go

Say ich habe Zöliakie.

It means I have coeliac disease, and staff know what it means. Ist das glutenfrei? asks if something is gluten free.

English is common, not universal.

Over half of Berliners speak English, older people less so. A German card helps at neighbourhood places.

Ask how it's made.

If a kitchen can't promise a separate area and separate utensils, eat somewhere else.

Shops are easy.

Rewe has a big gluten-free range. Bio Company and the Vitalia health shops have more, including gluten-free beer.

How Chef checks: every place here says it on its own site, or a coeliac writer who ate there does, and we link which. We checked on October 29, 2026. Kitchens change, staff change: if it's coeliac disease, say so every time. Photos marked "a photo like it" aren't of that place. No place paid to be here.

Chef Amazing remembers every place you ate, keeps the lists friends send you, and helps you cook it at home.
