Gluten-free Buenos Aires

Eating gluten free here: Easy

Buenos Aires is an easy city to eat gluten free: steak, empanadas, pizza, pasta and ice cream all come from fully gluten-free kitchens, most of them in Palermo and Recoleta.

What to ask
Soy celíaco. No puedo comer TACC, ni siquiera trazas. ¿Esto es sin TACC y se prepara aparte?

I'm celiac. I can't eat gluten, not even traces. Is this sin TACC and made separately?

Get: Steak and empanadas, then pasta

Argentine classics, steak and empanadas included, from a kitchen with no gluten in it. A second branch is at Báez 292 in Las Cañitas, which one diner calls their favourite restaurant in Buenos Aires.

Coeliac-careful kitchen

Not a gluten-free kitchen, but trained for coeliacs: accredited, a separate fryer or a separate menu with real protocols.

Good gluten-free options

Plenty you can eat and staff who get it, in a kitchen that also uses flour. Say it's coeliac, not a preference.

Before you go

Look for sin TACC.

It means without trigo, avena, cebada and centeno: wheat, oats, barley and rye. A crossed-out wheat symbol with those words marks gluten-free food here.

Sin TACC also means no oats.

Oats are in the name, so a sin TACC label leaves them out too.

Palermo is the sweet spot.

Most of the fully gluten-free places are in Palermo, with more in Recoleta and the Centro.

How Chef checks: every place here says it on its own site, or a coeliac writer who ate there does, and we link which. We checked on October 29, 2026. Kitchens change, staff change: if it's coeliac disease, say so every time. Photos marked "a photo like it" aren't of that place. No place paid to be here.

Chef Amazing remembers every place you ate, keeps the lists friends send you, and helps you cook it at home.
